I planned to write some tips on how to submit your wedding write up to your newspaper, but then I wondered. How many brides do that anymore?
There's no doubt that the newspaper industry is suffering. People have shifted to online news and get inundated by television news outlets. Then there's twitter and facebook and myspace and blogs, oh my! Who needs to put an announcement in the newspaper anymore?
So, before I tell you HOW to do that, please tell me...Did you or do you plan to submit your wedding to your newspaper? Please take the poll and leave a comment with your view on this.

We did post both daughters' weddings in a couple of newspapers. It was part tradition and part for the benefit of grandparents or other guests who do not use social media outlets. The postings now are probably nowhere to be found, but served their purpose at the time.
We posted our wedding (not engagement) in both newspapers in our hometown. A lot of people in this area still read the paper for wedding announcements.
I would like to. And I would like to know how to do it, if that helps. :)
When we get our professional photos back, we plan on putting ours in our hometown newspaper. It's fun to see who has gotten married or engaged.
